Pole type and rigid arm stereo microscope stands include a "C" tooth wrench for adjusting knob tension.

 

Position the wrench as shown, inserting it into the dimple in the knob arm.

Use the wrench to turn the arm clockwise for tightening, or counterclockwise for loosening.
