What It Does

The EMZ-5 + MA502 + KBL Stand Configuration System is a reliable and adaptable stereo microscope solution designed for inspection, education, and quality-control environments. The system is built around the EMZ-5 zoom stereo microscope head, which offers a 6.5:1 zoom ratio (0.7×–4.5×) and utilizes Greenough optics to produce sharp, high-contrast stereoscopic images with excellent field flatness. When paired with the included MA502 Super Widefield 10× eyepieces, the system delivers a total magnification range of 7×–45×, making it ideal for examining fine details in electronic components, biological samples, and precision assemblies. The microscope is supported by the KBL wide surface laminate stand, which provides a stable, spacious working area well suited for larger specimens and flexible illumination setups. An integrated F coarse focusing holder with smooth rack-and-pinion movement allows precise vertical adjustments over a 55 mm travel range, ensuring accurate focus across a variety of sample heights. Since the KBL stand does not include built-in illumination, users can easily pair it with external LED ring lights or fiber-optic light sources to customize lighting conditions. This configuration combines optical clarity, ergonomic design, and modular flexibility for dependable everyday microscopy work.

EMZ-5: Microscope Head
The EMZ-5 body delivers sharp, high-contrast images and an excellent zoom range of 6.5:1 that provides exceptionally high-resolution images all throughout the zoom range. The EMZ-5 employs Greenough optics, for improved image flatness and contrast. As a result, images are brighter and more distinct even at the periphery of the field of view. With the large zoom range, the EMZ-5 offers high resolution observation in precision-oriented semi-conductor, medical device and routine inspection. In addition to its compact design and versatility a wide variety of auxiliary lenses and stands are available to allow the user to customize their desired working distance to adapt to almost any application.

MA502: Eyepieces
Included is the MA502 Super Widefield Eyepiece 10X (pair) with 25mm reticle mount Field No. 23.0, Eye Relief 16.0, Focal Length 25.0.

KBL: Stand
The KBL Stand is a Meiji Techno America’s most popular ergonomic 380mm x 330mm x 20mm flat laminate board stand which requires external illumination when an extended work surface is needed. This ergonomic stand can accommodate large circuit boards or animal surgery which requires a wide surface area. Equipped with an integrated F Coarse Focus Block/Holder which is a focusing holder with rack and pinion mount that allows smooth and precise focusing over 55mm of travel. Its coarse focus mechanism incorporates a slip clutch and tension adjustment. Fits 20mm diameter, 71mm long mounting post. The 84.2mm diameter opening accepts all EM Series stereo bodies. The KBL Stand is a great complement to our Stereo microscopes due to the focus block’s ability to be easily raised vertically to accommodate different sample heights or special applications. A 5” (100mm) extension pillar for the threaded vertical post is also available if needed to accommodate taller specimens (MA551).

Superb Optics:
Multi-coated optical components, free form chromatic and spherical aberration, provide crystal-clear, high resolution images. The Greenough optical design provides superior erect, unreversed, stereoscopic images, rich in contrast, brightness and correct in their original color. Ergonomic Design:
All EMZ Series zoom stereo microscope bodies feature a compact lightweight design. Every stereo body features adjustment diopter tubes and interpupillary distance adjustment. Observation tubes are inclined at 45°, 60° or 90° for convenient fatigue free viewing depending on the application, A range of fixed of tilting focus blocks are available to mount the microscope body onto existing O.E.M. equipment.
