Powered by Meiji’s Infinity Corrected Optical System (F-200mm) and equipped with high-performance Planachromat EPI objectives (5X, 10X, 20X, 50X), the IM7000 Series produces crisp, distortion-free images across all magnifications. The system’s Brightfield/Darkfield illumination, provided by an integrated 30W Vertical Koehler Halogen lamp (with optional LED), delivers brilliant, uniform lighting suitable for microstructure evaluation, defect detection, and routine metallographic inspection.
A spacious 245mm × 180mm mechanical stage with stainless steel stage clips ensures smooth travel and reliable support for mounted samples and polished specimens. Ergonomic controls—including coaxial coarse and fine focusing, friction adjustment, and optional mechanical dropdown—enhance comfort and precision during long inspection sessions.
The IM7000 Series supports a wide range of accessories such as digital cameras, C-mount adapters, polarizing filters (via a quick-insert polarizer slider), and micrometers, making it a flexible platform for laboratory and industrial workflows. The built-in 23.2mm trinocular photo port allows seamless integration with imaging systems for documentation, analysis, and digital archiving.
What an IM7100H Inverted Metallurgical Brightfield Microscope Is Used For
An Inverted Metallurgical Brightfield Microscope is designed to inspect solid, opaque materials—especially metals—using reflected light that illuminates the sample from below. Because the objectives sit underneath the stage, this type of microscope allows users to examine large, heavy, or uncut samples that would be difficult to place on an upright system.

- All models come standard with ∞ Infinity Corrected Optical objectives (F=200)
- Viewing heads are supplied with a Siedentopf type binocular head, inclined at 30° or a trinocular Siedentopf head inclined at 45°. Interpupillary distance is adjustable from 53mm to 75mm. A graduated diopter adjustment is provided as a standard feature on the left eyetube of all units.
- Eyepieces are SWH10X, widefield, high eye point eyepieces, F.N. 22, with a 25mm reticle mount, SWH15X, SWH20X and SWH10X-F focusing eyepieces are available as an option. Anti-reflection coated, manufactured with a large diameter lens with more optical elements and high eyepoint to reduce eye fatigue and accommodate eyeglass wearers, and come equipped with a fold-down rubber eye-guards
- Infinity Corrected Planachromat 5X, 10X, 20X and 50X objectives are standard in all units. Objectives are made with extra-low-dispersion glass ans utilize new advanced multilayer ani-reflection coatings. The advanced technology used in designing and creating objectives result in an objective with a higher resolving power, higher image contrast, wider field of view, improved flatness of field, and a sharp image with a minimum of flare and ghosting. The objectives are color corrected for chromatic aberration in the red and blue regions of the spectrum and offer and exceptional flat field of view.

VIEWING HEADS
The binocular model, the IM7100, incorporates the MA814 Siedentopf-type binocular head while the trinocular model, the IM7200, has the MA816/10 Siedentopf-type trinocular head. The MA816/10 uses an 80/20 beamsplitter that can be engaged for photomicroscopy. (100% to eyetubes or 80% to phototube and 20% to the eyetube.) Each microscope head has the eyetubes inclined at 30 degrees with the left eyetube having graduated diopter settings. The interpupillary distance on the viewing heads is adjustable between 53mm – 75mm. An optional ergonomic binocular head is also available.

EYEPIECES
10X Super Widefield High Eyepoint eyepieces are standard, and 15X and 20X eyepieces are also available as an option. A Super Widefield High Eyepoint 10X focusable eyepiece that accepts standard 25mm reticules is also available.

Meiji Techno offers a broad range of digital video cameras which offers excellent sensitivity, high resolution and a wide dynamic range for the most demanding brightfield and darkfield microscopy applications including clinical pathology and cytology, life sciences and geology. Some models has included software, that can preview and capture still shots and live videos to a PC or Mac with USB port or HDMI connectivity.
