Description

The IM7510EH is Meiji Techno’s high-precision ergonomic inverted metallurgical microscope, engineered for industrial environments where large, heavy, or complex samples must be examined with accuracy and consistency. Its advanced Infinity Corrected Optical System delivers crisp, high-contrast brightfield and darkfield imaging ideal for evaluating grain structures, coatings, inclusions, surface defects, and heat-affected zones. The IM7500 is equipped with a reverse-facing quintuple nosepiece that supports a full range of Plan EPI objectives—5X, 10X, 20X, and 50X—optimized for reflective materials and polished surfaces, ensuring excellent flatness, resolution, and color fidelity across all magnifications. Built for stability and long-term reliability, this system is designed for demanding applications in aerospace, automotive, machining, electronics, and materials research.
Designed with versatility and operator comfort in mind, the IM7500 Series integrates seamlessly into diverse metallographic workflows. Its durable mechanical stage offers smooth 112mm × 71mm travel, and the dual-speed coaxial focusing system provides fine 2 µm precision with a protective slip-clutch mechanism. Users can select from binocular or trinocular viewing heads, incorporate digital or HDMI/USB cameras via the 23.2mm photo port, and enhance imaging through an 80/20 beam splitter or optional polarizer slider. The brightfield/darkfield illumination system—powered by a 12V/50W halogen lamp with optional LED—ensures accurate, consistent lighting for detailed analysis. Manufactured in Japan to exacting standards, the IM7500 Series offers a robust, adaptable platform perfectly suited for quality control, failure analysis, and advanced metallurgical inspection.
The IM7510EH Ergonomic inverted metallurgical brightfield/darkfield microscope is designed to inspect and analyze the surface characteristics of solid, opaque materials—especially metals, alloys, coatings, and industrial components. Because the objectives are positioned below the stage, this design allows users to place large, heavy, or irregular samples directly on the stage without sectioning or cutting them, making it ideal for production environments and material evaluation.
Common Applications:
• Analyze Metal Microstructure
Reveals grain size, grain boundaries, phases, and heat-affected zones in polished samples—essential for understanding how materials were processed or treated.
• Detect Surface Defects with High Contrast
Brightfield shows the overall surface clearly, while Darkfield makes scratches, cracks, pits, and inclusions glow against a dark background.
This helps identify early defects that might be missed otherwise.
• Perform Failure Analysis
Used to examine wear, corrosion, fractures, and coating failures.
Engineers rely on it to pinpoint the root cause of part breakdowns and evaluate material performance.
• Inspect Coatings, Plating & Thin Films
Highlights defects in electroplating, coatings, and thin films.
Helps verify surface uniformity, adhesion quality, and thickness consistency.
• Handle Large or Heavy Samples Easily
Because the objectives are under the stage, large, mounted, or heavy samples can be placed directly on the platform without cutting them—ideal for production components and metallographic mounts.
The IM7500 Series features include:
- All models come standard with ∞ Infinity Corrected Optical objectives (F=200) delivers bright, clear, high resolution images with superior contrast.
- Viewing heads are supplied with a Siedentopf type binocular head, inclined at 30° or a trinocular Siedentopf head inclined at 45°. Interpupillary distance is adjustable from 53mm to 75mm. A graduated diopter adjustment is provided as a standard feature on the left eyetube of all units.
- Eyepieces are SWH10X, widefield, high eye point eyepieces, F.N. 22, with a 25mm reticle mount, SWH15X, SWH20X and SWH10X-F focusing eyepieces are available as an option. Anti-reflection coated, manufactured with a large diameter lens with more optical elements and high eyepoint to reduce eye fatigue and accommodate eyeglass wearers, and come equipped with a fold-down rubber eye-guards. The newly designed eyepieces allow for a wide field of view observation, making it possible to see the whole image of an embedded resin sample.
- Infinity Corrected Brightfield/Darkfield Plan. Semi Apo BD 5X, 10X, 20X and LWD 50X objectives are standard in all units. Objectives are made with extra-low-dispersion glass and utilize new advanced multilayer anti-reflection coatings. The advanced technology used in designing and creating objectives result in an objective with a higher resolving power, higher image contrast, wider field of view, improved flatness of field, and a sharp image with a minimum of flare and ghosting. The objectives are color corrected for chromatic aberration in the red and blue regions of the spectrum and offer and exceptional flat field of view.
