Description
The Meiji Techno MT5210H Phase Contrast Microscope is designed with precision optical components that must be properly aligned to achieve accurate phase contrast illumination. Using a phase telescope inserted into one of the microscope’s eyepiece observation ports, the condenser annulus in the substage condenser turret is carefully matched to the phase plate located in the rear focal plane of each Phase objective. Each Phase objective requires a specifically sized condenser annulus corresponding to its magnification and numerical aperture (N.A.); for example, the Phase 10X and 20X objectives both contain phase plates but require condenser annuli of different diameters.
The MT5210H utilizes a Zernike Phase Condenser with designated annuli for each magnification range: the Ph1 annulus with the smallest aperture is paired with the 10X and 20X Phase objectives, the Ph2 annulus is matched to the intermediate 40X Phase objective, and the Ph3 annulus, which has the largest aperture, is required for the high-power 100X Phase objective. By properly aligning and matching these components, the MT5210H ensures that the illuminating light rays are superimposed onto the phase ring of the objective, producing clear, high-contrast images of unstained, transparent specimens.

VIEWING HEADS
Model MA815 is the Siedentopf-type binocular head and Model MA816 is the trinocular head for camera integration. Each head has the eyetubes inclined at 30 degrees with the left eyetube having graduated diopter settings. The interpupillary distance is adjustable between 53mm – 75mm. An 80/20 beamsplitter for the trinocular tube can be engaged for photo work. (100% to eyetubes or 80% to phototube & 20% to the eyetube.) The optional MA957, Ergonomic Binocular Viewing Head, has the inclination adjustable from 10 to 50 degrees to fit users of different heights. The Ergonomic Trinocular model comes with the MA958, photo/video attachment with sliding 80/20 beam-splitter (Included in MT5300ED).

EYEPIECES
10X Super Widefield High Eyepoint eyepieces F.N.22 are standard, and 15X and 20X eyepieces are available as an option. A Super Widefield High Eyepoint 10X focusable eyepiece that accepts 25mm reticules is also available.
