Description
The Meiji Techno MT5310EL Ergonomic Trinocular Phase Contrast Microscope utilizes precision optical alignment in which the phase contrast components must be carefully matched and adjusted. The condenser annulus, housed in the substage condenser turret, is aligned with the phase plate located in the rear focal plane of each Phase objective using a phase telescope inserted into one of the eyepiece observation ports. Each Phase objective is equipped with a specific phase plate annulus, requiring a corresponding condenser annulus of the correct diameter based on the objective’s magnification and numerical aperture (N.A.); for example, the Phase 10X and Phase 20X objectives both contain phase plates but require condenser annuli of different sizes. By properly matching the condenser annulus to the objective phase plate, the MT5210EL ensures that the illuminating light rays passing through the annulus are accurately superimposed onto the phase ring of the objective, achieving correct phase contrast illumination for clear, high-contrast observation of unstained, transparent specimens.
The Ph1 condenser annulus , which contains the smallest aperture, is designed to be used with the lower power 10X and 20X Phase objective. Intermediate magnification objective 40X Phase utilize the Ph 2 annulus, while the highest power and N.A. 100X objective require the Ph 3 annulus, which requires the largest phase annulus.

VIEWING HEADS
Model MA815 is the Siedentopf-type binocular head and Model MA816 is the trinocular head for camera integration. Each head has the eyetubes inclined at 30 degrees with the left eyetube having graduated diopter settings. The interpupillary distance is adjustable between 53mm – 75mm. An 80/20 beamsplitter for the trinocular tube can be engaged for photo work. (100% to eyetubes or 80% to phototube & 20% to the eyetube.) The optional MA957, Ergonomic Binocular Viewing Head, has the inclination adjustable from 10 to 50 degrees to fit users of different heights. The Ergonomic Trinocular model comes with the MA958, photo/video attachment with sliding 80/20 beam-splitter (Included in MT5300ED).

10X Super Widefield High Eyepoint eyepieces F.N.22 are standard, and 15X and 20X eyepieces are available as an option. A Super Widefield High Eyepoint 10X focusable eyepiece that accepts 25mm reticules is also available.
