MT7530H, Metallurgical Trinocular Upright Brightfield/Darkfield Compound Microscope with Infinity Corrected Plan EPI 5X, 10X, 20X, 50X and Vertical Koehler 6V 30W Halogen Incident Illuminator

MT7530 Halogen Trinocular BF/DF Metallurgical Microscope is built for professionals who need precise, contrast-rich imaging when examining metals, alloys, coatings, and polished surfaces. Its powerful 50W vertical halogen illuminator supports both brightfield and darkfield reflected-light techniques, allowing users to easily switch between surface detail and deeper structural contrast. At the heart of its performance is a full set of Infinity-Corrected Plan Epi objectives, engineered specifically for metallurgical inspection. These objectives deliver edge-to-edge sharpness, excellent numerical apertures, and true-color accuracy across 5×, 10×, 20×, and 50× magnifications, making them ideal for identifying inclusions, heat-affected zones, micro-cracks, and fine grain boundaries with precision.

The MT7530 also offers professional imaging flexibility through its trinocular head, enabling users to connect a digital camera for documentation, analysis, or live viewing. Its ceramic-coated mechanical stage provides smooth and stable X-Y travel, while the ergonomic Siedentopf head and widefield eyepieces help reduce fatigue during long inspection sessions. Built with Meiji Techno’s signature durability and attention to detail, the MT7530 delivers long-term stability and consistent optical performance in demanding industrial and research environments. Designed for those who rely on accurate, repeatable results, this microscope combines robust Japanese engineering with high-quality optics to support the full range of metallographic workflows.

Description

The MT7530H Halogen Trinocular BF/DF Metallurgical Microscope is a powerful reflected-light inspection system designed for professionals who need precise, high-contrast imaging of polished materials. Engineered with a robust halogen vertical Köhler illuminator, the MT7520 delivers bright, evenly distributed illumination for both brightfield and darkfield observation—making it ideal for analyzing grain boundaries, inclusions, coatings, and heat-treated surfaces. Its infinity-corrected Plan Epi objectives provide crisp, color-accurate views across multiple magnifications, while the ceramic-coated stage and smooth 100×100 mm X-Y travel ensure stable, repeatable specimen positioning during detailed inspections.

Built for durability and comfort, the MT7530H features a trinocular head –Siedentopf typehead with a relaxed 30° viewing angle that helps minimize fatigue during long sessions. The heavy-duty Japanese-engineered frame enhances stability at higher magnifications, and the auto-sensing power supply supports seamless use in various lab environments. Reliable, precise, and designed for demanding industrial and academic applications, the MT7530H is a trusted solution for metallographers, quality-control engineers, and researchers seeking dependable brightfield/darkfield performance in a compact, professional instrument.

What the MT730H Upright Metallurgical Brightfield/Darkfield Microscope Is Used For

An upright metallurgical microscope is designed for inspecting solid, opaque materials—metals, alloys, ceramics, semiconductors, composites, and polished industrial samples. Because these materials do not transmit light, the microscope uses incident (reflected) illumination from above the specimen.

It supports Brightfield (BF) and Darkfield (DF) observation, giving users two powerful contrast methods for detecting surface features and microstructural details.

Brightfield Observation (BF) — General Surface & Microstructure Analysis

In Brightfield mode, light reflects directly off the sample’s surface, producing a clear image of:

  • Grain structures

  • Phase boundaries

  • Heat-affected zones

  • Inclusions and impurities

  • Coating thickness

  • General surface morphology

Brightfield is ideal for standard metallurgical inspection and material comparison.

Darkfield Observation (DF) — Defect & Edge Enhancement

Darkfield uses angled illumination so only light scattered by the sample enters the objective. This dramatically enhances contrast and reveals:

  • Scratches, pits, cracks

  • Surface defects or contamination

  • Edges, boundaries, tool marks

  • Particles or inclusions not visible in BF

  • Subtle texture variations

Darkfield is especially effective for inspection of polished or etched samples where fine defects must be detected quickly.

Common Industrial & Laboratory Applications

  • Quality control in manufacturing

  • Failure analysis of components and parts

  • Metallography (grain size, phases, microstructures)

  • Welding and heat-treatment evaluation

  • Coating and plating thickness inspection

  • Semiconductor & PCB inspection

  • Surface finish and wear assessment

  • Material research and development
