What It Does

The EMZ‑8U + MA502 + CR‑2 Stand Configuration System is a modular stereo microscope setup used for high‑contrast, three‑dimensional magnified viewing of small objects (like circuit boards, cracks, chips, or biological samples). At its core is the EMZ‑8U binocular zoom head with Greenough optics and a wide 6.5:1 zoom range (≈7×–45×), designed for bright, flat, detailed images and compatible with fiber‑optic illumination. It includes a pair of MA502 wide‑field 10× eyepieces and is mounted on a CR‑2 articulated arm stand that lets you position and focus the microscope over your work area with precision. This configuration provides a flexible, ergonomic microscope system for inspection, research, and precision tasks.

EMZ-8U: Microscope Head
The EMZ-8U has a special inlet for a single arm fiber optic light guide which allows illumination to be paralleled to the optic path; it is also designed for observing objects that are normally difficult to see under oblique incident-light illumination such as holes or cracks, scratches on metal surfaces, IC chips and liquid crystal patterns. The EMZ-8U is designed for high-contrast images and has an excellent zoom range of 6.5:1 that is parfocalled all throughout the zoom range. It also includes Greenough optics for improved image flatness and contrast which results in brighter images at the periphery of the field of view. With the large zoom range, the EMZ-8U offers high resolution observation in precision-oriented semi-conductor, medical device and routine inspection. In addition to its compact design and versatility, a wide variety of auxiliary lenses and stands are available to allow the user to customize their desired working distance to adapt to almost any application.

Ergonomic Design:

Observation tubes are inclined at 45°, 60° or 90° for convenient fatigue free viewing depending on the application, A range of fixed of tilting focus blocks are available to mount the microscope body onto existing O.E.M. equipment.
